Glass Art - Leadlighting & Copperfoiling

Leadlighting and copper foiling workshops are conducted by local artist, Lyn Swan.

The term leadlight could be used to describe all windows or panels in which the glass is supported by lead. Leadlighting can only be used for two-dimensional pieces.

In the copperfoiling, the edges of the glass pieces are wrapped with adhesive copper tape, and soldered together along the adjacent copper strips.

Copperfoiling allows for more detailed and three-dimensional pieces, including Tiffany lamps and glass boxes. Copperfoiling is what most people would describe as leadlighting.

All leadlighting and copperfoiling workshops include expert instruction, all materials, and morning/afternoon tea and lunch on all days. All leadlighting and copperfoiling workshops are for participants aged 16 years and older.
