Volunteering

Cobb+Co Museum has adopted a philosophy that encourages community involvement in many aspects of the Museum's operations, including management, research and training and public programs.

Our volunteer program provides life long learning opportunities to residents of Toowoomba and without the support of our volunteers, Cobb+Co Museum would not be able to provide such a high level and number of activities and programs.

Volunteering at the Cobb+Co Museum provides a means through which people can participate actively in furthering the aims and objectives of the Queensland Museum to engage in stimulating learning opportunities which enriches themselves and their community.

There are currently 38 community volunteers assisting the Museum in various programs. Including eight members of the Advisory Committee chaired by Dr Dennis Campbell and ten honorary technical advisors who assist the curator with vehicle collection issues and heritage trades such as coach building, harness making, saddlery and blacksmithing. The other volunteers are honorary docents who work in many aspects of the Museum, including public programs and visitor services.

The Volunteer program is an exceptionally important part of the activities and services provided to the community by Cobb+Co Museum.
