REGISTER FOR COBB+CO MUSEUM'S LEADLIGHTING WORKSHOP

Limited places are still available in the final leadlighting workshop for 2009 at Cobb+Co Museum, 31 October - 1 November.

Museum Director Deborah Tranter said the workshop is a hands-on introduction to the skills and tools needed to create unique leadlighting artwork.

"In just weekend, each participant will create an individual piece of leadlighting to display at home or give as a hand-crafted gift as some of our past students have done," Mrs Tranter said.

Local leadlighter Lyn Swan will teach the basic techniques and principles of leadlighting including glass and lead cutting, polishing and soldering.

The workshop caters for a maximum of six participants at a cost of $285 per person which includes two days of expert instruction, all materials and morning and afternoon tea and lunch on both days.

The leadlighting workshop is one of Cobb+Co Museum's heritage trades workshops that encourage the preservation of traditional skills. Other workshops include silversmithing, blacksmithing and whip making.
