Our Science for the Future

Mother and child interact with Sustainable Science exhibition

Now On

This fun interactive exhibition explores how we can use old and new technologies to work towards a sustainable future.

  • What is a Stiger Vortex Gun and how does it make rain?
  • What is a rotary solar convection clothes dryer?
  • Will water sprinklers become extinct?

Find and test the answers to these questions and more

The exhibition shows how every day objects such as magnets, gears and wheels can help households live more sustainably.

Some of the activities explore the use of gears and curves to reduce energy consumption, using our own bodies as an alternative energy source, recycling using magnets and harnessing the energy from lightning.

A Sustainable Science education program for primary and secondary school groups has also been developed. Teachers are encouraged to contact Cobb and Co. Museum for further details.
