Toowoomba at the Crossroads![]() Pittsworth Cheese Factory, early 1900s. ![]() Austral Hall, Toowoomba 1908. Explore the history of the Darling Downs, from its traditional inhabitants and early squatters and selectors to the thriving region it is today in Cobb and Co Museum's new exhibition, Toowoomba at the Crossroads. The exhibition highlights the shared heritage of the region covered by the Toowoomba Regional Council, and illustrates the significant roles played by smaller towns and districts in the development of the region. Some of the stories presented in the exhibition involve the long struggle for water, unique contributions of migrants to the region and an expo of leisure activities. A feature of the exhibition is the then and now photographs of streetscapes and a collection of items from the former eight councils which amalgamated to form the Toowoomba Regional Council in 2008.
