Description: A four-wheeled vehicle with side springs in which two people can be seated in the front and up to four on the two side seats at the rear. Access is via the tailgate. Colour: Black body with red lining and dark blue undercarriage with fine cream lining. History: Wagonettes became popular from the time of the Great Exhibition in London in 1851 as they were more practical than the phaetons and particularly suitable for general-purpose use by country folk. This vehicle was owned by Misses Sarah and Elizabeth Crawford of Crawfordburn then on the outskirts of Toowoomba. (Bolton Collection) Registration: H14809 |
