Eureka buggy

Description:  This vehicle is typical of a convertible buggy with a turn out seat. It has side springs and transverse elliptical springs at the rear. A distinctive feature are the false louvre panels on each side. There is a pole for two horses.

Colour:  Black body and undercarriage with red lining and red upholstery.

History:  Some Queensland coachbuilders included a eureka buggy in their advertisements but it is assumed that others simply referred to this style as a turn out seat or convertible buggy. Mr Walter Brown from St George used this vehicle until the 1930s. (Bolton Collection)
