Drover’s wagon

Description:  A medium-sized van 2.9 m long with tyres measuring 50 mm. The van has a high driver’s seat, a tool compartment under the footrest and a hinged tail-gate. The body is mounted on a thoroughbrace undercarriage and has the usual two foot brakes.

Colour: Brown body with a thicker black line and fine yellow lines; undercarriage is yellow with black lining.

History:  A useful wagon that was popular with drovers and for cartage of a good quantity of fodder or supplies. Although a similar style van was advertised in the Cobb & Co. factory catalogue in 1915, the thoroughbrace wagon was not exclusive to the Charleville factory. This vehicle was restored by Ferguson’s Coachworks of Toowoomba. (Bolton Collection)

Registration: H14817
