Megafauna - prehistoric giants from the Darling Downs
Developed by Queensland Museum, this exhibition is based on research from local Darling Downs sites. Megafauna evolved after the extinction of dinosaurs and roamed the Darling Downs from 1.8 million to 10,000 years ago and the sites on the Darling Downs are some of the most well-preserved and extensive in Australia.

Our science for the future. This fun interactive exhibition explores how we can use old and new technolodgies to work towards a sustainable future.

Special Exhibition
Walking in my shoes
View life in Toowoomba through the eyes of six young people from different cultural backgrounds at Cobb and Co. Museum’s Harmony Day display from 19 March. Walking in my shoes has been developed in conjunction with Centenary Heights State High School (CHSHS) and features the stories of six students who have chosen to include a pair of shoes which are either culturally or personally significant to them. The countries and cultures represented include Liberian, German, Indigenous Australian, Solomon Islander, Bangladeshi and European Australian.
Free with admission. Thanks to Toowoomba City Council admission is free on presentation of a TCC Library card.

Beginners Floral Blacksmithing Workshop
A new workshop, Flowers in Steel is designed for beginners. Participants will learn basic forge work and make a decorative flower arrangement.

Holiday Activities
Create A Creature School Holiday Program
Children will be introduced to the physical characteristics of Australian animals and insects, encouraged to identify features that help them survive in their environments and create an original species by combining these characteristics. Another aspect of the program is recycling, demonstrating how it is an integral part of caring for our native animals and their environments. Other activities include reassembling animals from a collection of body parts; matching the skin to the animal and building an environment for the animals to live. There are no bookings required however children must be supervised by an adult

Leadlighting Workshop
The workshops are conducted by local glass artist Lyn Swan. Participants learn the basics of lead lighting including glass and lead cutting, polishing and soldering, culminating in a completed tulip sun catcher to hang in their window. Spectators are free with admission.
$285 including all materials, two days expert instruction, morning/afternoon tea and lunch

Beginners Leather Plaiting Workshop
The workshops will be conducted by four-time Dame Mary Durack Award winner, Bill Webb. Participants will make a plaited leather belt. Spectators are welcome

Beginners Blacksmithing
Participants learn basic forge work by making a range of tools including coal chisel, hot cutter, round punch, oval punch, centre punch and tongs. After completing the Beginners’ Blacksmithing Workshop, they are eligible to participate in the Advance Blacksmithing Workshop and after completing the Advanced Blacksmithing Workshop, they are eligible to participate in the project workshops. Spectators welcome

Beginners Silversmithing Workshop
The workshops will be conducted by Toowoomba’s own silversmith, Don Zeizemer and participants will learn basic techniques including soldering, sawing, filing and the correct use of the tools. Spectators are welcome

Advanced Blacksmithing Workshop
Participants have already completed the beginners workshop at Cobb+Co Museum. In this workshop they further their skills by making some decorative fire side tools
