Toowoomba Never Floods

Toowoomba never floods - it's on top of the range.  Yet the city did flood on 10 January 2011, and much of the region was already awash from Christmas 2010.

People faced immense challenges.

The Toowoomba Never Floods exhibition acknowledges the enormous rescue and recovery effort from the local community, while educating and informing visitors about the natural disaster in a broad historical context.

The exhibition also enables local residents to tell their stories and share experiences.  The Toowoomba Never Floods exhibition has been made possible through funding provided under the Community Development and Recovery Package, a joint initiative of the Australian and Queensland Governments under the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements.

It is presented courtesy of Cobb+Co Museum, the Toowoomba Regional Council, the Australian Government, Queensland Government and Operation Queenslander.
