Millinery Workshop with Johanna Guerin

Create a oriental style spring fashion hat from sinamay in this two day workshop


Prerequisite: Nil
Venue: Cobb+Co Museum, 27 Lindsay Street, Toowoomba
Date: Saturday 2 - Sunday 3 September 2017
Time: 9am – 4pm
Cost: $345 (incl GST) includes expert instruction, all materials and morning and afternoon tea and lunch.
Age: 16 years and over
Requirements: Please wear closed in shoes

This workshop has a maximum of six participants.

On the day

Using traditional hat blocks and millinery techniques, you will create your fashion hat in time for the spring racing carnival. You can choose from a selection of colours and trimmings, but feel free to bring your own lace, trims, beads and flowers too. You will learn various embelishment techniques and can discuss your ideas with your tutor.

Meet your tutor

Johanna Guerin has an eye for detail. Her high quality workmanship has resulted in her hats being worn across the world and at all major Australian Horse Racing events, as well as the Dubai World Cup and Royal Ascot events. Johanna was awarded the RAW Australia Queensland Accessories Designer in 2013. You will see Johanna's costumer millinery on the Empire Theatre stage in the 2017 season of "Wicked".
