Learn the techniques to create your own stunning silver jewellery at Cobb+Co Museum

Our silvermsithing workshops cater for the complete beginner through to the more advanced student, teaching a wide range of techniques to give you the skills to design and create your own pieces. Workshops run throughout the year.

Meet your tutor

The workshops are conducted by renowned silversmith, Dan Cox (pictured) who specialises in handcrafted jewellery. Dan has conducted workshops throughout Queensland and has exhibited his work across Australia and internationally. He enjoys working with clients and students to create pieces full of meaning that no one else will have! 

Choose your workshop

In the Silversmithing Beginners Workshop you will learn the basics of silversmithing including cuttlefish casting, stone setting, earring, ring, pendant, rivets and soldering.

Develop your skills in chain making, bangles and tube setting in the Silversmithing Intermediate Workshop. Learn how to create your own jump rings, stretch links and texture these links, joining them together to create a chain link bracelet. You will also learn how to measure and create a solid bangle.

In the Silversmithing Advanced Workshop you will learn the advanced techniques of bezel setting, frame making, threading and findings.

Workshops cost $345, including all materials, tuition, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Bookings are essential.
