Learn the techniques to create your own stunning silver jewellery at Cobb+Co Museum

Our silvermsithing workshops cater for the complete beginner through to the more advanced student, teaching a wide range of techniques to give you the skills to design and create your own pieces.

Meet your tutor

The workshops are conducted by renowned silversmith, Dan Cox who specialises in handcrafted jewellery. Dan has conducted workshops throughout Queensland and has exhibited his work across Australia and internationally. He enjoys working with clients and students to create pieces full of meaning that no one else will have! 

Silversmithing beginners workshop

Dates: Saturday 9 - Sunday 10 May 2015 | Saturday 25 - Sunday 26 July 2015
Techniques: Learn the basics of silversmithing including cuttlefish casting, stone setting, earring, ring, pendant, rivets and soldering.
Cost: $345
(includes all materials, tuition, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea)

Silversmithing intermediate workshop

Dates: Saturday 31 January - Sunday 1 February 2015 | Saturday 31 October - Sunday 1 November 2015
Techniques: Develop your skills chain making, bangles and tube setting.
Cost: $345
(includes all materials, tuition, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea)

Silversmithing advanced workshop

Dates: Saturday 30 - Sunday 31 May 2015 | Saturday 22 - Sunday 23 August 2015
Techniques: Learn the advanced techniques of bezel setting, frame making, threading and findings.
Cost: $345
(includes all materials, tuition, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea)
