Millinery workshops
You will definitely turn heads in the unique hat, headpiece or fascinator you made yourself at one of Cobb+Co Museum’s millinery workshops.
You will be hooked on making head wear that is unique and matches that special outfit perfectly.
Workshops include one day tasters, spring racing hats, blocked felt hats and pillboxes.
All our Millinery Workshops have a maximum of 10 participants to ensure everyone receives all the assistance and direction they require.
Meet your tutor
All our millinery workshops are conducted by milliner Elaine Mergard (41 KB)
. Elaine made her first hat in 1964 during her training as a Home Economics teacher.
She has made thousands of hats during her career and all were made in the traditional way, while reflecting current fashion colours, styles and trends.
She even made hats for her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce during her time as Governor of Queensland 2003-2008.
