A workshop to interest everyone

24 May 2011

See two different types of metal transformed at Cobb+Co Museum’s workshops on the weekend of 4 and 5 June.

If you have ever wanted to have a go at blacksmithing, places are still available in the one day taster Blacksmithing Workshop to be held on 4 June.

Learn the basics of blacksmithing including operating a forge and using tools and an anvil and create a mounted hook to show off to all your visitors.

The workshop costs $170 including expert instruction, all materials and morning and afternoon tea and lunch.  Bookings are essential.

An Advanced Silversmithing Workshop will also be held across the weekend, 4 and 5 June.

Participants have already completed a Beginners Silversmithing Workshop at Cobb+Co Museum and will further their skills by making a range of silver jewellery.  Spectators are welcome.

Heritage trades workshops are conducted by Cobb+Co Museum’s resident artisans. Workshops in stonemasonry, leathercraft, felting, glass art, calligraphy, millinery and creative bookmaking are also on offer.
